SERVICE DESCRIPTION
Writing Coaching clients (ages 11 and up) can meet with Ms. Finnigan in her online office once per week for 15-20 minutes to talk about their writing projects. These meetings supplement and enhance the Writing Coaching service. The time can be used in a variety of ways depending on what is most beneficial for the student:
- at the beginning of a new project for help getting started
- in the middle of a project when "intervention" or clarification is needed
- at the end of a project, to verbally discuss Ms. Finnigan's feedback
Sometimes Ms. Finnigan will have a recommendation as to how Office Hours might best be used that week. Other times, students have a pressing matter they want to discuss. Office Hours can happen at the same time each week, or at different times, to be coordinated each week with Ms. Finnigan. The office is an online classroom equipped with video, microphones, chat boxes, white boards, and "share pods" that allow students to upload work so Ms. Finnigan can read and comment on it in real time.

SCHEDULE & LOGISTICS
Course Duration:
- One month
- (If we start on April 3, we'll end on May 2.)
Teacher-Student Interaction (Weekly):
- 5 email exchanges per week or 4 email exchanges + one, 15-20 minute session in Office Hours
Emailing:
- Families can send one email per day, Monday-Friday
- Ms. Finnigan will write back within 24 business hours
Live Office Hours:
- One, private, 15-20 minute meeting per week, optional
- Can be scheduled for a standing time each week or can be scheduled each week at a time that works for the student(s) and Ms. Finnigan
Family Sharing:
- Service can be shared among siblings
- Parent will have to help with coordination!

How does it work?
Sign up for the bundle and you'll receive a welcome email from Ms. Finnigan. Writing Coaching usually starts with an email exchange and Office Hours are set up via email.
Siblings can share the service. Up to three students per family can attend any particular Office Hour, as long as the time limit of 15-20 minutes is not exceeded.
All sessions are recorded for the safety of all but recordings are not shared or made available for public viewing. (If Ms. Finnigan ever did want to share a recording, she would obtain permission from students and parents first.)
Parents are welcome to be present as observers and to support the child if needed, but should not communicate with the teacher on behalf of the student. (Parents should not use Office Hours to communicate with the teacher but should reach out to the teacher via email.)
